 Danza Morena Latin Dance Academy 

       Originated in 2000 under the direction of Carmen Gonza, Danza Morena Latin Dance Academy has become a well known and respected performance school / Salsa studio in Saskatoon and area. With its professional level of presentation and performance Danza has been fascinating Saskatoon audiences with their sizzling “sazón” and their NuYorican and L.A. style of Salsa. Danza has participated in countless private as well as community and socially minded events in and around Saskatoon presenting their unique Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Cha-cha sazón. Recently Danza Morena students had the opportunity to participate and win the couple’s Cha-cha competition for North America’s favorite dance show “Dancing with the Stars” held in Saskatoon. Danza Morena offers year-round weekly lessons for adults in beginner Salsa as well as Advanced Salsa. Likewise, Danza has a year-round performance based dance program for children and youths.

            Carmen Gonza is a Salsa Teacher, Dancer and Choreographer that attained her education at The Jossie Neglia Salsa Dance Academy in Los Angeles California, specializing in Professional Salsa Teaching Technique; also Carmen has extensive Salsa training from Eddie Torres in the Eddie Torres Salsa Dance Studio in New York City. Carmen is a graduate from the University of Saskatchewan, and also has dance credentials from the University of Regina’s Dance Teacher Education Program.
